“Niche tourism in urban fringes, rural roads, cultural quarters and emerging destinations”

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

      Submissions for presentations and papers for the 2009 Conference are invited relating to the following three sub-themes:

  • Marketing and development of non-mainstream destinations
  • Understanding behaviour of tourists who seek niche experiences
  • Emerging tourism opportunities

The Conference Program Committee will also consider submissions on other topics which relate generally to the Conference Theme.

Presentation Formats (including Q&A):

Single topic sessions Related topic sessions Multiple topic sessions
Presentations up to 90 minutes Presentations between 30 and 45 minutes Presentations between 10 to 20 minutes

      All submissions must include a five-line description (approx 300 words) of the presentation or paper and a bio of the author/s of not more than five lines in length. Include a brief statement on how your research presentation relates to the conference theme or addresses a research need. The descriptions and bios of successful submissions will be posted on the TTRA website prior to the Conference.

      Refereed paper submissions must include a five-page abstract, single-spaced, or the full paper (approx ten pages in length), single-spaced. Please include references.

      Submissions should indicate the following: (i) whether the submission is a presentation, paper or professional development session; (ii) if the submission is to be a refereed paper; (iii) which session format is requested; (iv) the desired presentation format; and (iv) how the submission contributes to the theme of the Conference.
