LSA 2009 LEISURE EXPERIENCES seeks to explore participation in, as well as the ideas and practices which shape the planning and provision for, such experiences. The themes of this conference relate to performance, learning, location and the role of risk in leisure experiences.
PROGRAMME UPDATE: A focused stream ‘Researching Gender: Principles and Practices in Sport,Leisure and Physical Education’ will now form part of the theme ‘Performing Leisure’. In thisstream, practitioners and professionals will come together to share their knowledge and discusspractices, processes and philosophies connected to researching gender in the field. The aim of thestream is to develop understandings of gender and intersectionality in leisure studies and possiblethemes may include changes to what have traditionally been seen as masculine or feminine sportand leisure spaces, methodological innovation in gender studies of sport and leisure practices, andtheoretical advancements to feminist research in sport, leisure and PE.
SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS –DEADLINE 15 MARCH – Papers are invited that address one or more of the conference themes: Performing Leisure (including the Researching Gender stream); Learning Leisure; Locating Leisure; Risk and Leisure.
