New ITSA President Elected

Professor Alastair M. Morrison of Purdue University has been elected as the President of ITSA for 2011-2012. Professor Haiyan Song of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University was the first ITSA President and ably charted the Association through its first four years of operation.


Professor Morrison brings decades of experience in international tourism research, education, and consulting to his new position at ITSA, and is a highly recognized tourism academic worldwide. Morrison said, “It’s a great honor to be chosen as the second President of ITSA and I’m really looking forward to all the challenges and opportunities that are ahead in the next two years. As one of the Founding Members of ITSA, I truly value the vision and objective of our Association. Working together with the excellent new Executive Committee, I am convinced we can take ITSA up another level in 2011 and 2012.”


Now residing in Beijing, Professor Morrison is ideally situated to work effectively with the ITSA Secretariat.
